Imus Be Gone!!

It's hard to read a newspaper or listen to the evening news on TV, or even broadcast radio, without noticing how much sensational news is out there. Drummed up, over inflated and mostly, bad news has evolved to hold our attention longer. We want to see all that exciting stuff! When it comes to a drug bust verses 3 kids cleaning up their neighborhood to make it a better place, the drug bust will win every time. Let's niot leave out of this discussion the one-sided news, delivered to the viewers with an added benefit of a built-in opinion.
It makes it hard to pick through it all and choose what I believe. Trying to find a venue that makes all news rise to a pristine standard, is just not going to happen.
It comes as no surprise, sadly, that Don Imus felt comfortable mouthing hurtful, hidious and vulgar language on open airwaves putting down a women's basketball team. As a woman, I object. I object to being trivialized, demoralized and catagorized by such flagrant, careless and obviously brainless verbage.
There is no taking it back, there is no forgivable apology, there is no excuse for such a lack of professionalism and no other alternative but his permanent removal from the airwaves. Be gone, Mr Imus. Using your profession to air your meager view of the world is a crime, by FCC standards and the standards of decent journalism.
