Is it Possible that Ann Coulter and Sarah Palin are Sisters?

This is really a Friday night confession of the sin I have committed this week. All week I have tried to make sense out of that high pitched whine that is coming from John McCain's side. There have been conversations about "bridge to nowhere", I thought maybe they had had an "a-ha" moment about the Iraq war. A jet was sold... no, NOT sold on e-bay. The Alaska governor is afraid to fly? Suddenly, it is starting to look like Sarah Palin has more stories being told about her than Paul Bunyan and Pecos Bill. Some of them are pretty disturbing.

The one I really thought we should save for the campfire on Halloween is how she tried to get her ex brother-in-law fired from the police force. "Hell hath no fury like a woman whose sister has been scorned". Undaunted by the police commissioner's refusal to fire the family outlaw, she proceeds to use her royal governorship to fire the commissioner! Does anybody find this to be a few degrees above, "rash"???

As I have said before, I dream of the day that I can vote for a woman president. But I will be damned if I vote WITH my ovaries instead of my brain! Apparently, some women will vote for anything in a skirt, even if it has a big mouth and little experience and even fewer brains. This past week has really left me feeling ill about my own gender and all the female cooing about this brassy new tart that almost makes Dick Cheney look nice.

Wednesday night, I was left with all these new stories and this whiney voice that most closely sounds like chalk on a blackboard. I made my escape for the bookstore, where I could lose myself in shelves of new books, intelligent writing, new ideas. What comfort! Even the smell of a bookstore is calming. I'm relaxing, peeking into dozens of new books, tasting a paragraph here and there, marveling over the delicious brain banquet laid out before me. I follow the shelves and the tables in an almost euphoric meditative state.

That's when the virtual, visual bucket of ice cold water hit me between the eyes, carrying the shock like "super freeze" to every frayed nerve. Ann Coulter has written another book. If this was Salem, I would vote to have her tried. She writes drivel that leaves me marveling that it even gets printed! She lies, she tells half lies, she embellishes. She dresses up crap and makes a cause out of it! One more stupid woman to deal with!!

I'm sorry! I lost it! I took the top book with Coulter posing as if her wordly views were worth the purchase price of the book, and TURNED IT UPSIDE DOWN! No more bitches today! I didn't come here to buy stupidity. I came here to avoid it. There are times I wish book burning was still legal and practiced to rid the world or worthless books.

As soon as I resume sanity, I'll go back to defending freedom of speech and a publisher's right to make money off of books that have neither an attractive cover or substantial content. Now that I know where that book is in the store, I won't pass by it again, so I will not be tempted to let my prejudice impede someone else's right to choose a really badly written book.

There! I feel better having admitted to my crime. Hell, I felt better after I committed the crime!

Sarah Palin, Go Clean Up Your Own Back Yard

I know, I know! Barack says that Sarah's family life is , "off limits". So she gets to the Twin Cities only to start screeching about Obama being unfit to lead. Seems a little shallow to me. About as shallow as her own qualifications to lead. Leadership starts in the home, adults leading children through childhood and preparing them for adult life, careers and starting their own families.

Personally, I don't think that marrying off a 17 year old because she is pregnant is a good choice. As far as I know, mind and body are not fully developed yet, inspite of the reproductive organs swilling in hormones at full throttle. 17 year old girls who get pregnant and keep their babies are another statistic for poverty waiting to happen. Holy matrimony is not the answer, either, statistically speaking. Mothers in this catagory end up as single mothers with no training, no job skills and no means to raise a child.

They must learn a different set of skills. They must learn the rules of the Department of Economic Security and how to keep qualifying for food stamps and a stipend to survive on. The housing is cheap, rundown and depressing. So is the chance for a brighter future. There are people that beat the odds and make it. There are too many that never will make it better for themselves or their children.

So, Sarah! I hope your plans for the nation and your"proven" ability to lead our Congress will have a better back up plan than the one you are offering your daughter. If I were you, I would be very careful pointing a finger at someone else's qualifications, when your own back yard is in need of a clean up.
