All I Want For Christmas.....

I admit, I was surprised to find out that one of my fondest wishes may have come true. The dream of an impeachable offense has finally appeared on the horizon. From the start of his presidency, there was always an ingredient of Richard Nixon in this man. Something in his eyes, his manner. Maybe even the bulldog tension in his lower jaw when he wanted his way. Not only is it an impeachable offense, Bush has admitted... no, proclaimed... he has a right to spying in the name of fighting terrorism without clearing the secret court. Wow! That was easy!
Now the hard part is finding outrage from the 51% of us who need to speak out for our civil liberties. I saw a bumper sticker the other day that declared, "Fight for Freedom!" Right next to a "Bush 04" sticker. I found a bittersweet humor here trying to think how a conservative can look to Bush for freedom by losing privite liberities under the Patriot Act. I guess things that affect the common masses are beneath them, if only in attitude.
The truth is that the law has been broken! Spying is a rubber stamp operation that can be covered retroactivly in 72 hours. What in the world was he doing that he circumvented the courts.. obviously on purpose, that was to our benefit? If we care to know the answer to this question, I'm pretty sure that it will strengthen the desire to carefully inspect both the Patriot Act and the motives of this presidency in their clandestine attempt to pry into the lives of the citizens of this free nation.
